My PLDT nightmare!


I have to "Like pa this page just to be able to post, I might unlike it later.


This is a true story... Not that I am destroying PLDT's name, I am using your services at the moment so why should I? I posted this here so your offices and departments get their act together and do something about you being branded as " ANTI - CUSTOMER FRIENDLY " to us consumers just because you happen to have the monopoly of the top of the line service in the country!

It all began when I was working on that faithful night in December 14, 2010. I got the feeds and the news that PLDT is giving away "FREE" Andriod touch screen tablets when you upgrade your Internet Subs. I did research and stuff to get to know the product very well and on December 20, 2010 I made that 45 minute call to PLDT [ 20 minutes to wait for customer service to finally answer me amidst that sickening Telpad music repeating as the background music, 10 minutes to verify my account, 15 minutes for some FAQ and finally the reservation ] The customer service guy told me I will have to wait for 2 weeks since I was amongst the first 5,000 people to reserve and they will do credit checking at my account. I was smilling and happy at this point as in a few minutes I will be going to the province for a 2 week long vacation [that is why I counted the minutes very well as I was staring at the clock for my reserved car to arrive].


2 weeks pass and I called up PLDT as I have come back to Manila the past 2 days, I was again in this 20-30 minutes of my time trying to talk to a customer service [ my credit cards customer service can take only 3-5 minutes to do transactions, PLDT always takes half an hour for me ] and was told upon investigation that I have pending payments to make before I could be in the "RESERVE" list of the new PLDT Telpad! I was furious and told the customer service that the billing error was not my fault, PLDT have some faulty billing system sometime late 2009 and they OVERBILLED ME not 1x, not 2x, not 3x but 4X in my Bill!!!! I am at plan 1MB and they bill me 4X in a single phone line and make it appear 4X in the statement, I have wasted 3-4 days going back and forth and being thrown left and right to the Mega Mall PLDT center early 2010 just to get the billing fix, so around September to November they were able to erase the 3X error in billing, but they still left me ONE WRONG BILLING, which is by the way UNDER INVESTIGATION from their BILLING DEPARTMENT. I do not wish to go back and waste days and hours just to get this error checked, I am resting my case that if ever they notice this error they will do follow ups for it. BUT HERE WE ARE NOW JANUARY and they are telling me that I QUOTE " I SHOULD PAY THE FAULTY BILLING IN ADVANCE SO THAT I CAN RESERVE ME MY TELPAD " after a few anger moments with the girl customer service, I take a deep breathe and ask her "APART FROM THE 1 MONTH ADVANCE THAT I PAID YOU GUYS, YOU WANT ME TO PAY UP MY BILL for DECEMBER, THE FAULTY ERROR IN MY BILLING is that it?" The girl said yes sir! so in short my bill is always around 2K, so I will have to pay around 6K already. So I hurried to SM payment center and just for the heck of it PAY IT ALL! INCLUDING the faulty error on my billing, as the customer service girl said, once the investigation is over I will be credited back the money I paid! [ WOW JUST LIKE AN INVESTMENT EH?"]

After payment, I called the customer service for the 3rd time that day and was shock to my brains out! "SIR UBOS NA PO ANG RESERVATION SLOTS FOR JANUARY, MGA FIRST WEEK OF FEBRUARY NA LANG PO YUNG SA INYO" I was cursing the heavens and the damnation of hell! THEN WHY THE HELL DID THEY LET ME PAY UP IN ADVANCE THIS JANUARY EVERYTHING WHEN THE RESERVATION IS OVER AND I WAS NOT GIVEN A SLOT! I was left with no choice but to wait on that faithful day in February.

Moving forward February.

My wife's birthday is approaching so I was thinking of adding the PLDT as a surprise to her as she likes to do Facebook and stuff. BUT TO MY HORROR When I called up PLDT customer service AGAIN TO CHECK ON THE STATUS OF MY APPLICATION " Sir, you need po to pay your outstanding balance, and yung mga remaining nung nasa statement nyo po" I was furious once again and demanded to talk to a team leader or someone with a good head in that call center " I WANT YOU PEOPLE THERE TO DIG ALL UP MY RECORDS FOR THE PAST 3 YEARS AND POINT TO ME THAT 1 TIME THAT I DID NOT PAY MY BILLS OR IF I AM EVER DELAYED JUST 1 SINGLE DAY OR AN HOUR!" The call center guy told me that I have been paying monthly religiously and that he can see there has been ERRORS in my billing as they have overbilled me not once, not twice, not thrice but FOUR FRIGGIN TIMES in my account, and he said that I am currently credited back naman daw for those over billing horrors! I was told not to pay those OVER BILLED STATEMENTS and just pay my regular bill of 2,000+ [ with tax daw kasi yun, di ko na nga alam kung magkano yung plan 1MBps na payment basta ako pay lang ng 2k every month ]

Now to get back to the story, "SIR KAILANGAN NA PO NG STATEMENT NG CREDIT CARD NYO SAKA E FAX PO NINYO" Why wasn't I told about this before and why isn't this on all the infos and boards that I read??? I dont know, maybe just maybe a thought that this customer service rep give me a shaddy phone number and will do credit card theft on my faxed statement when suddenly NAPUTOLAN AKO NG CUSTOMER SERVICE, THE GUY HANGED UP ON ME! I waited for 30 minutes to talk to these people and they hang up on me so I will have to call again and waste another 20-30 minutes of my life.

Next rep got my ire and all the frustrations I thrown at her, she said it was due to faulty etc etc that is why I was cut with the rep before, I said its just your spill right??? She did not say anything.

Left again with no choice, I hurried up and Fax my credit cards statement, Pay the remaining balance and the balance for January and February only to be told when I called up PLDT customer service again for about a dozen time already for this TELPAD THING! "SIR DI PO KAYO KASAMA SA FEBRUARY RELEASE! PERO MAY RESERVATION NA PO KAYO, WAIT NYO NALANG PO TAWAG HA" and the bad thing is I waited for a week for their call that did not happen [ I work at home, and the landline is just a feet away from me, everytime it rings I was the one to answer it the whole week ] When I called up again a few days back to check my reservations I was told " SIR TUMAWAG DAW PO YUNG TELPAD SA LANDLINE NYO 9 AM, 3PM and 5PM " I was like "anong tumawag! you mean to say I am a lying to you right now that I never got a single call from PLDT during those hours except for a call from my Tita and Grandma around noon that day ? " Di ako sinagot ng customer service and bigla nalang ako binagsakan


To this day I never get a call back from Telpad and I am intending not to pay the next few months of PLDT either, maybe that will get them thinking and sending me threat letters or even have their call center call me about my billing, I will then SAY TO YOU " PLEASE CHECK MY BILLING "


I am tired.


Di na ako maghahabol sa inyo, kayo naman maghabol sakin.

Sayang lang ang inadvance ko and the weeks and the hours na kitain ko pa sana online just trying to be a good customer for the next 3 years for this TELPAD. I AM NOW THINKING THIS HAS BEEN A BIG LIE to me.
